And besides, if you have a bridge top that looks like this:



Why on earth would you want to paint it black? That's what hard maple =
looks like when it is perfectly quarter sawn. Just too darn pretty to =
cover up. 'Course, if you have a bridge top you don't want anyone to =
see..........  didn't you ask about why manufacturers....... (no, no, =
now let's not even go there!)

  I have a question about the bridge you made for the Overs Kawai:
  the original bridge had graphite on its top, so why did you choose not =
to graphite it?
  Is graphite a bad thing (although many manufacturers graphite their =
bridges) when applied on top of bridges?
