Jurgen:

Steigerman Bench World used to sell an Italian made bench built on the
gas tube like many office chairs. Wholesale 3 or 4 years ago was about
$145.00. I bought one for a voice teacher here and she has loved it. I
recently tried to buy another from them and was told that the
Euro/Dollar exchange had made it too expensive for them to carry. They
seem to specialize in reasonable-price benches. You might try to track
down the source and see if you can carry them reasonably. They are
quick to adjust, simple and like the office chairs last a long time.

Subject: Quick-adjust piano bench

I have a music teacher who does a lot of group lessons and is tired of
forever cranking the piano bench up and down for her little students.
She is looking for a piano bench with the spring lever quick adjustment
feature, the kind of mechanism found on some piano chairs (with backs)
made in Japan or Europe.

Does anyone know of a source for benches with this kind of height
adjustment mechanism?
