Somewhat lack it may be but SAT III will always get a 100% score on PTG=
 tuning test...not too bad a place to begin. Not the stability part of=
 the test though...that's the tuner totally...

Robertt Finley asked : "Until now I have been performing the FAC stretc=
h calculation/analysis =3D
using the SAT III on the piano and then began tuning chromatically from=
 =3D
A0 upwards, tuning the single string unisons, and then the two and thre=
e =3D
string unisons as I go along, using rubber mutes. I am wondering whethe=
r =3D
it would be better to strip mute the piano, tune all the single strings=
, =3D
perform checks on the intervals and octaves, and then go back and tune =
=3D
all the unisons. =3D20

What would you advise that would produce the best, most accurate and =3D=

fastest result? Thank you for your help.=3D20"

Robert,
Please refer to my Tuning Article, PTJ, January 2000. This system will,=
 hopefully, start you on the road to good Aural tuning. Most techs, tha=
t I've queried about the FAC system, have found it somewhat lacking. It=
 is a system that will get the "beginner" a reasonable/commercial tunin=
g, but that's as far as it's able to go, IMO.
