Lots of assumptions going on, and with good reason.

I've used this device for years and have only met one piano with a tilt 
to it..and the string gauge told me so.  It was on, arguably, one of the 
better Grand Manufacturers. Don't forget: this device is a tool, and the 
final test for level strings should be no sound coming from a matted 
hammer-to-strings.

I said arguably!,
