Scientists have warned us for years and years that global warming, by increasing the temperature of the Gulf of Mexico seawater, leads to more frequent and violent tropical storms and hurricanes. They've also pointed out since the 1970's that New Orleans, being below sea level, was very vulnerable. Exactly what happened was predicted in detail many years ago. This was not a random disaster or a divine intervention, except perhaps very, very indirectly. Susan
