He says it's buried somewhere among his souvenirs. no he didn't actually say that! But he says he's got one somewhere. FWIW I never noticed "Rippen" marked anywhere on that Irish Potato. That would be the piano, I guess...is Rippen labeled anywhere on the Lindner? (The good Lord preserve us all from these, begorrah!) 'Tis said (by leprechauns, of course) that when the factory closed they paid the workforce off in pianos. It wasn't the actions that disintegrated, it was the plastic keys. It was also the peculiar push-fit flanges to which the action parts were attached that broke as did the clockwork springs by which means the keys were attached to the metal keyframe. Advanced before their time. Made now, the plastic would be better! David Ilvedson said: "Infamous for plastic actions that disintegrate.' David, That is simply not true. You are confusing the Rippen with the one made by Rippen's Son, in Ireland. (Can't remember the name of it, even tho I have one, it's "buried" right now.<G>) Del owned one and it was a good piano, as I recall. Perhaps he can fill you in on the particulars.<G> Regards, Joe Garrett, R.P.T.
