Terry, It varies according to the piano and/or owner's needs. Generally, around 8-12 cents on grands, and sometimes as much as 15-20 cents on verticals. It depends on the situation. When I've done a one-pass overpull, I always check all the unisons with the VT so I can make any necessary corrections. Usually, things are either close, or right where they need to be. I'll allow a cent or so before I make any changes during the unison check. The one-pass with overpull is a good option for the customer. It doesn't cost as much as a two-pass tuning, and results are similar. Of course, I wouldn't do a one pass/overpull for a concert tuning, but it works well for nearly everything else.
