Soundboard rib question

Hi!

The way the grain looks, I don't think the soundboard had much crown, at 
least not in the way modern pianos have it. Thin ribs are not necessarily a 
sign for compression crowning. Old pianos usually had thin ribs, and 
harpsichords even thinner.
