I just finished rebuilding a set of 1890 Weber whips, they used a piece of bushing felt across the slot for the spring to rest on, just like the cloth that often holds the rep spring in place. Once the gunk was gone and everything new the action felt really good. Actually a very sweet piano, the current owner rescued it from the street after the flood and is taking great joy in fixing it up. -- ----Dave ----------------------------- Dave Doremus, RPT New Orleans ------------------------------
