Avery, You guys are correct about the piano being a KG -2. However that was not my question. Weather or not it is a K2 or a KG-2 was not my problem. I could care less if it is a XYZ. I am having problems with false beats. ----- Original Message ----- From: Avery To: Pianotech List Sent: Friday, July 07, 2006 7:24 PM Subject: Re: Kawai K2 grand Greg, You're probably correct but he said a model K2 grand, not a KG2. I guess I wasn't thinking it all the way through. Sorry. :-) Avery At 07:54 PM 7/7/2006, you wrote: Perhaps I missed something here. Isn't it a KG-2 series? About 5'10" or so? Those really aren't that uncommon so I'm thinking I missed something. Greg Newell At 08:43 PM 7/7/2006, you wrote: Terry, I checked their web site and couldn't find anything starting with a K. I did a Google search and found this: Kawai K2 AnyTime Series Upright Piano - Polished Snow White Finish - New For Autumn 2006 But that's not a grand. I did check the serial number you gave and their web site said 1970. Maybe Don Mannino will chime in here. I just don't remember ever hearing of any K model grand. I could be wrong, of course. It wouldn't be the first time! :-) Avery At 07:27 PM 7/7/2006, you wrote: Avery, I may have assumed to much about this piano being a K2. It says: Kawai K2 then the serial number 479818. Seems to be a 1970. Over all it is in very good condition. Belongs to a piano teacher whom I have tuned for for about 7 years. I have never had any problems with false beats until the last year of so. I've never heard of this model. Is it a fairly old one? Just curious. Avery At 05:43 PM 7/7/2006, you wrote: I am working with a Kawai K2 grand that has numerous false beats in the treble and up. Pins seem tight although I have not backed the strings off, bridge is tight and I have seated the strings. There are some minor rust marks on the strings. Suggestions?
