A nail works great...that is a pretty low stress area

Gordon:

That’s not a really difficult repair. Get some stainless steel rod of the right size and make a hook. I used a nail in a real pinch but I wouldn’t recommend it! ?

Subject: Kimball Console-broken damper rod hook

List. I'm servicing a Kimball Console, and have a broken damper rod hook. This hook broke off
right below the entry into the rod. This hook is the one located just prior to the bass lift rod
"coupler" (overlap).

Are there damper rod hooks available from some source or from a tech on the list?
Schaff catelog does not show any.

Can one hook in the middle of the rod, (there are two others in the middle and one at the far
right end near the lever), be removed and relocated where the broken one now is located?

Can a new hook be made by someone?

Are there any suggestions from tech's on this problem?

Many thanks in advance.
