Action Frame Front Rail Repair

Thought y'all might like to see a before and after picture of my latest adventure: Action Frame Front Rail Repair.

Before picture is below. The pins were angled this way and that - some so far that the top of the pin was catching on the edge of the key mortise. Plus most were almost loose enough to be removed with fingers. Heights were all over the place as well. Also, quite a bit of evidence of miserable CA glue repairs.




After picture is below. I wish I had a huge drill press with a good drill press table. My lines of holes are less than perfect - but quite adequate I think. I used my overhead drill press.


I figured I'd post this before I install the keys (and test my spacing accuracy) and was feel good about the project!  ;-)
