" Anyone else run into Pearl River's UP-125M1 studio with SUPER TIGHT tuning pins? I had a new one yesterday that I was sure I would twist off pins, and they were snappy/jumpy. Mark Wisner, any thoughts?

A UP125M1 is one of the models built in the Yamaha/Pearl River factory. Maybe now that Yamaha operates a factory on their own in China they aren't trying as hard at the plant they operate with Pearl River?

I'm just kidding, of course. I've not seen any change I'd consider negative in the quality of the pianos built in the Yamaha/Pearl River joint venture factory lately. If it's a REAL nasty one get some torque readings and call me at work (800 435 5086 ext 111), I may be able to help the problem go away.
