Hi CY
  Yes I have & it's a wonderful & pricey tool.  I lost  the magnet to mine & 
will see if I can re-order thru the web  site.  Previously I tried to get this 
done but the requirement was to  send it all the way back to Germany for a 
new magnet & recalibration.   I can tell you though from expereince it is a very 
accurate & useful  tool.  Fortunately there is more than one way to gauge or 
approximate  soundboard thickness.  The sustain noticeable in the G-2 as the 
strings go  back on is amzingly long & improved.  WIll report back after it's 
back  together.

Have you tried the Hacklinger magnetic thickness  gauge?  Spendy, but lets 
you take more measurements without  drilling:
