I guess they think there isn't enough spring wood to make em crown. I once consulted on a warranty call featuring a new Steinway B with a board made this tight of a grain, It had about 50 compression ridgy crackys goin on. The client wanted the piano replaced . Steinway guys said to me"they didn't consider it a problem unless there was a problem with a rib to panel joint." SO ...I found one. An inch long or so & barely got the feeler gauge in. Heck of it was that ....dang that piano sounded good. They replaced it, just prior to the court date. Funny how that works Dale You bet. Any day. Do these folks happen to have reasons why they think 20+gpi panels won't crown, or is it just yet another of those off-the-wall laws of the alternate universe?
