A thought on why that lasts for a long time - rewetting the hydraulic
cylinder with hydraulic fluid and therefore stopping small leaks around the
piston inside it....??????
Thoughts??

We have a "Boesendorffer" Adjustable bench at the University, had it for a
long time.

What I have found is that if I sit on the bench, lift the handle and let the
seat go all the way to the bottom, repeat this several times, the bench will
regain its adjustability and stability.

Lasts for a good while....don't ask my why.

Hope this makes some sense.
