I think you will find it is a Daywoo piano. Personally, I think it is for Sherman Clay Daywoo. Pitch raise, fine tune and a couple minor repairs. Everybody's happy. I then went to look up the age of the piano, and while Pierce does have an entry for Sherman Clay it doesn't have anything listed even close to this serial number. Nor could I find anything on line. Many changes of ownership for the Sherman Clay name has left an void for this: Sherman Clay model SDG1, serial number: G021786. Does anybody here know where else I might look to find this date? -- Geoff Sykes -- Assoc. Los Angeles I don't know where you'd look, but I can tell you that piano was made in the Sojin/Daewoo factory in Korea between 1982 and 1988 or '89. (SD= Sojin/Daewoo; G1 from the Yamaha-type designation/size.) Hope this helps... David Andersen P.S. I may have prepared, or supervised the preparation of that piano in the Sherman Clay warehouse if it came through there between spring '83 and fall '87.
