How do you subdue silicone in a finish?

Sand it smooth and shoot a coat of lacquer on it.  Just remember to add 
"fish-eye eliminator" in the proper proportion.  It may be of interest that 
"fish-eye eliminator" is, to my understanding, pure silicone....
