Maximum bass wire length & upright max. weight

Hi, everybody!

I kindly ask anyone knowing this to share with me/us: which is the longest string (bass string) to
encounter in the biggest pianos (Steinway Concert model D; Bossendorfer Imperial etc).
The reason I ask you, veterans, is I intend to build a bass wire wounding machine, as simple as
possible, but capable to serve me in any situation I could fall in.

I would also be glad to find out the heaviest upright piano wheight you've encountered. I think
this is quite an odd question, since is not likely you weigh the uprights before moving them. As
far as I know, they don't exceed 400 kg (882 lbs. - 'avoirdupois' or 1072 pounds - 'troy').
