Thanks for the info Brad. That home-made down-draft table looks pretty slick. I've thought about building something similar to that, but the trouble is, that for my needs, the table would have to be a little bigger than 8' by 5' to accommodate a soundboard panel for a 9-foot piano.

One thing at a time, I guess.....

"Dust tunnel" is just my crude term for a quickly constructed "downdraft table".

A friend of mine has a huge fan in his shop window, and he put up angled walls of plastic sheeting to create an area for sucking dust out the window. It's kind of like a spray booth set up, but for dust. His is big enough to put a piano right inside, so he can sand to hearts content, and all the dust goes out the window. Then he occaisionally blows compressed air to help the rest.

I created a smaller version of it using a couple of pipes to my dust system.
Just today I tuned for a guy who does shaker furniture, and we discussed this. He says I should just make a 'down draft' table using peg board, and the tiny holes create much better suction.
  Here are some examples:

But you don't have to buy such an expensive thing. Here is a kit from Rockler:

Here is a cool home made one:

It seems to me that all I need is a big rectangular box, with pegboard on top, and a 4" hole for attaching a dust pipe and blast gate.

If anyone finds a good plan for this, please post.
