John, There's a trick to finishing oily woods with oil: wash the wood with lacquer thinner and then apply the oil, of choice, to the wood. Has worked well for me. What it does, is wash away the surface oil of the wood and allows the finishing oil to penetrate and bond with the natural oil of the wood. Works on Teak, Ebony, cocabola, etc. Joe Garrett, R.P.T.
