I am going to inspect a 1992 Young Chang Grand for a client of mine who is considering purchasing it from the sellers of the house she is buying. Could someone give me a quick sympton list of Expanding Action Bracket Syndrome? Rick Bazemore, RPT Social Circle, GA www.pianosintune.com I haven't seen it on a Young Chang yet, but I would imagine the drop screws might be close to scraping the pinblock, the metal of the brackets themselves might show signs of spalling (flaking, cracking), the action spread might be too wide. It's probably supposed to be close to 112 mm. (hammer shank flange center pin to wippen center pin). But the main symptom is probably that the regulation is weird and the piano won't play right, or feel right. Maybe backchecking is not correct, or hammers are blocking or not dropping - things like that. --David Nereson, RPT -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
