Terry,

It is interesting to try to figure out how things happen.   How long has Steinway been making CC soundboards?   Since they began, right?   They must have realized the soundboard had to be under tension and that was the most logical way at the time?   Now just suppose...if Steinway was to abandon CC soundboards.   Would there be an appreciable difference in the sound of their pianos?   Does the Steinway rebuilding shop put CC soundboards in their rebuilds...?
