Was tuning one of my regulars, an older couple. Got to talking cookies (she was baking) and she said she wanted a recipie for thin oatmeal cookies. Well, my mother used to make the best, so I said I'd email the recipie, which I did. Here is the recipie for all my friends in Listland plus her response. Anything to build client loyalty and referrals! Thanks Alan. I get so many perks from my piano tuner. Cream together 1 c. shortening, 1 1/4 c. brown sugar, and 1 tsp vanilla 2. Combine 2 c. flour, 1 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp baking soda. Add to creamed mixture along with 1/4 c. boiling water. Add 2 c. of oats. 3. Drop onto baking sheet and press thin with a fork that has been dipped in water and shaken. Cookies should be about 3 to 3 1/2 inches in diameter. 4. Bake at 375 degrees until lightly browned. These are crispy and yummy! Enjoy, Alan Barnard Salem, Missouri -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
