Les,

Call Pam Woods at (866) 798-6979. x 233. In the recent past, there's been a long wait for parts. They recently got a passel of them. Hopefully there are some left.

There are long brackets, and short brackets. The long ones hang over the ends of the mounting blocks on the bracket, and are kind of a hassle.

I was in a situation like you: club, probably not much time or space to work in. Toting the action down an elevator into a basement parking lot, and eventually to my garage was not going to be a very economical use of time. I tried to do the job in a storage room, but due to the distance from my car and shop, it didn't work out real well with the long brackets(all YC had available at the time).

The good news is, they got some of the short brackets in recently, and I was able to get a couple of sets. The new ones come with screws to accomodate the slightly different dimensions.

Yes. Serial numbers starting with zero are from the era. Yours sounds like a classic case.

Responsibility? Unless you have some sort of maintenance contract with this piano, I sure don't think so. But I do think you have a great opportunity!

Can anyone tell me if a YC model G-150, S/N G054242 might be one with expanding brackets? I tuned this first time, a nightclub….. yesterday. . First five notes were blocking, and several others along the way did so as well. Regulation was terrible throughout, and of course it was in HORRIBLE tune. I called the local dealer who had YC and got no recall. I don't know if I have some "responsibility" to deal with this thing for which I have absolutely no experience. But I hate to see even bad pianos be worse than they need be……
thanks
