  In three to five years, I hope to relocate and start my own business.  So, I've started looking into the demographics, markets, etc.  One thing I would like to know is how many tuner/techs there are in a given area.  PTG membership, of course, is easy to establish, but not everybody's in the PTG.  In my current area, there are six listed tuners, and three are in the PTG.  I know of two other PTG members, myself and one other who is just starting out, who aren't listed in the phone book.  So, in my metro area of about 375,000 people, there are 6-8 tuners (two semi-active?) of whom five are listed by the PTG.  Does this percentage (50-60% PTG membership) ring true for most areas?

   

  Any advice from others who have relocated will be greatly appreciated.
