Thanks to everyone for your great advice. Also, I went to the PTG meeting today and got some great advice too.

Thank you everyone, also, for not rubbing my nose in it too!!

Isaac, I will definitely practice before I try anything.

Hi,Sam! You can call yourself "Stupid" if you will do it again second time..For the first time:Just call it GODD Experience..

I had done it 28 years ago,I still work on that 6'+ Chickering and it's fine..

Here is a simple repair technique: Drill out 31/32" hole to insert ½" Ready Made Plug from Pin Block Material, glue it,cut it flush. And here is the trick I had learned from late Dennis Nicholson,RPT.. At 1o'Clock area drill 7/32"hole 1/8 deep so that drilled hole is half-way in the plug and half way in the old pin Block area and it works as a LOCK or CAM and prevents newly installed plug from spinning around during drilling. You don't have to wait for glue to set with this technique. This LOCKING technique was used in a lot of ship building joints in the OLD World and it works..I would recommend practicing it first on an old piece of pin block material..When I will master using my new digital camera-I will post a picture of this repair. Good luck.. Isaac..

Ok, I know this was a stupid thing to do and I'm glad that it was on my piano and not on someone else's.

The plate bushings looked horrible, so I decided to drill them out and replace them. On one, though, I drilled too far and went about 1/2 inch into the pin block. After that happened, removed the pin block and wished there was a way to kick myself before I continued.

So now I have to figure out what to do about this oversize hole I made where the pin should go. I'm hoping that the block isn't ruined, because the rest of it looks like it's in really good shape.

I'm thinking about gluing a plate bushing in the large hole. That's the only thing I can think of right now. Any ideas?

Please don't yell at me, I yelled at myself already.
