  Is the pedal going down far enough? Does it come in contact with the bottom board? Could there be something under the pedal that is preventing it from going down far enough to go into the notch.

               Doing a dealer tuning on a brand new Yamaha M-500 console, I found that the practice rail pedal (center pedal) moves the practice rail into position okay... however the pedal wont move to the left into the lock-on postion (slot). Upon closer examination and after playing with the adjusting tie rod the slot doesnt provide enough clearance for the pedal!  
       
               The only solution I see is to remove the felt that lines the cut-out and replace it with thinner felt...it seems too thick. It measures 1/8" or better....or.. Am I overlooking some other simpler solution, as I hate to pull and sever new felt,,,I'd be redesigning the situation. 
      Has anyone ever seen this in a brand new Yamaha?? What gives? ....or in this case... doesnt give?...In my whopping 42 months in business, I have never seen a Yamaha with "careless" work.
