Reconditioning old finishes

A general cleaner/conditioner for varnish finishes is a mixture of equal parts:
Turpentine, denatured alcohol, white vinegar, boiled linseed oil.

It smells like salad dressing and does a nice job.  Reglue loose veneer first.
