Benefits of tilting the piano, instead of the drill press ? ( Opinions sought. )

Tuning pins? Tuning pin angle has nothing to do with the stretcher 
orientation, and everything to do with string orientation.

Canted away from what? Directly in line with the strings? What do you mean? 
The pins should be nearly perpendicular to the strings.

Lines on the pinblock for what? I don't understand what you are talking
