Yes, that appears to be the case with the pinblock in the piano I am working on. The plate side flange goes between the case and the stretcher - the pinblock sits in a up-side-down bowl of sorts (the plate). Terry Farrell Hi Del/ Terry No board. I'm keeping it original. It's in really good shape. The mouse's ruined the pin block. The pins were really tight but then I realized they were treated with that organically produced pin tightener.......Urine-tune? Dale Again, check. You may be able to drop the pinblock out of the piano without removing the whole plate/soundboard assembly. I replaced the block in my 9' JB without removing much of anything.
