Lead Key Weights ?

Brett-
The front weights may have been added separately from the others as a weight correction after manufacturing.
If so, there may be a different alloy in them which is oxidizing.
You can try sealing with lacquer.  Not a bad idea to seal the others, too.
Be careful of the dust!
