> Has anyone really proven that tearing the cloth is better than cutting > it? I doubt it, but it's much easier to tear than to cut, if you're making little-uns out of big-uns yourself. As to how wide, the easiest way is to put a long taper on a piece of over wide cloth of the thickness you intend to use. Thread it into the reamed out flange hole, and mark it where it snugs up, with a sharp pencil. Measure the taper width at the pencil mark (plus a tad), and that's your bushing cloth width. Strangely enough, it typically measures pretty close to Pi*diameter of the hole it's supposed to fit into. Curious, ain't it? <G> *Then* futz around until you get a fit. Same for bushing damper guide rails, or pretty much anything. Ron N
