Instability puzzler

RE: Instability puzzlerI regularly find myself having to retune the notes at the break on any brand of piano.  I have always felt that the gap for the plate strut leaves no strings and as such, there is unstable tension there.

Why it keep going out afterward is a mystery.  I would look for a plate crack also.  They can be hard to spot sometimes.
