It is hard to have an in tune piano for recordings. One can tune the piano once a week and touch up every morning and still have problems. The artist will show up about noon and bang on the instrument for six hours until they have it right and then on the final recording it will have drifted. Of coarse, the thing to do is to have the tuner there all the time, but six hours of banging is much worse than a two and a half hour concert.
