Tuning in China

Years ago I bought a Naxos CD of J.S. Bach pieces played by Joseph
Banowetz, performed/recorded in China (Naxos 8.550066

The tuning seems somewhat singular......  the unisons are OK.....

This was from a much earlier point in the Chinese piano industry, and when
I asked someone at a PTA convention about piano tuning in China, he said
that at that time there was a dearth of competent tuners.
