It almost always requires a pitch raise and a tuning after that. Since I charge $ 150 for that service, the bill is $ 225 for 2 hours of work. This is right on target for $ 100 per hour, which is the minimum I can be comfortable with. There is no warranty, just the opinion that this is a temporary, viable alternative to replacing the block. As to how the CA works, I think it is because it greatly increases the surface area of the wood ( at the molecular level) in contact with the pin. There may be some swelling of the wood involved, but I don't know about that.
