Schafer & Sons question

Even though the plate says Schafer & Sons? Except by already having learned
this, how would I go about discovering this? I mean besides posting the
question here. This is interesting.

Pierce says 1985, BUT the dealers invoice for the purchase is dated 1981.

philip head screws in the soundboard, along the grain and about 8" apart,
right in the middle of the bass section. Since the mismatched strings are

She has never had any strings replaced, and except for tuning, has never had
any work done on it. 
 
So, how much of this description seems unreasonable to you for a new piano?
Any ideas what's going on? Neither of us have a real problem with any of
this. Except for the two buzzing strings the piano is very nice and
performing well. But having found these discrepancies, we're now just
curious about what she really has.
