Maybe I missed something but the flanges are somewhat different and it looks like the new parts would move towards the wippen center a bit...

While I agree that the parts are not exactly the same, my question to you is where is that 2mm difference?  From my perspective it looks like the drop screws are about .5mm off, and it looks like it is quite possible that the rest of the difference is at the leading edge of the flange molding - which would be inconsequential.  I'd be curious to know what the measures are from the center pin to the leading edge of the molded interior of the flange on both parts.  Also from the core to the center pin on both parts.

And here is the new Renner shank and flange lined up with the original NY Steinway S part.  There is almost 2mm difference in the disrance from the roller core to the flange profile.  In other words everything is moved inboard nearly 2 mm.
