[Cliff Lesher]

Here's some information about Boston and Essex from an actual  
reference:  2007-2008 Annual Supplement to The Piano Book,  by Larry  
Fine.

Essex vertical models 108, 111, and 116 made by Young Chang in  
Tianjin, China
Essex vertical model 123 made by Pearl River in Guangzhou, China
Essex grand models 161 and 183 made by Young Chang in Korea.
Essex grand models 155 and 173 made by Pearl River in Guangzhou, China.

All Boston models are made by Kawai in Japan except the 118S  
(vertical), which is made by Kawai in Indonesia.

I often wonder why more people in this business don't read the cited  
reference (series).
