Brand new to posting.- tuning mentor?

I am brand new to this,  so let me start with a few questions..... besides
college classes- which don't appear to have any locally.... and reading
books- which I have- is it reasonable to find a mentor out there (Northern
Virginia area) that could teach me to tune...or let me watch him tune.... I
want to start my second career!  I have some tools.... looking for more,
not sure what I really need.  But this has always been a desire of mine.
