Live at the Atelier: Mario Feninger Sunday October 7th, 2007 Mario Feninger is one of the last living links to a Golden Age of the Piano (1900-1940)---when the world was blessed with performance giants: Hofmann, Cortot, Busoni, Rachmaninoff and Godowsky. An energetic and vital eighty-three, Feninger is literally a practical, experiential bridge into an earlier time---because his mother was a renowned pianist and composer, he actually sat at the feet of these legendary pianists. He was there when the timeless music written by the older masters---from Couperin and Scarlatti up through Chopin and Schumann--- was exalted, reinterpreted, transcribed, transformed, and performed brilliantly by these younger masters of the early twentieth century. Mario has dedicated his life to the study of keyboard performance practices from the baroque to the romantic era, the subtle "touch" nuances that make the music leap and dance. He is an exceptional teacher and storyteller; at his first Atelier concert I found myself captivated by his atmospheric remembrances, his almost shamanic presence, and his limpid, deeply expressive music. Ladies and gentlemen, these chances are not repeated; if you can possibly attend this transcendant event, I urge you to RSVP today. Call Jenika at 310-457-5604 and we'll take care of all the details. I'm deeply excited and looking forward to seeing you there. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Live at The Atelier: Mario Feninger DATE: Sunday October 7th, 2007 TIME: 2:00 PM LOCATION: The Atelier RSVP: Jenika 310-457-5604 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Coming Up ------------------------------------------------------------ --- --- November 4, 2007 2PM Our season ends with Terry Trotter,,,, More Terry Trotter - http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=4bpg6ecab.0.ecnmwdcab.xksck5bab.644&ts=S0280&p=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mamajazz.org%2Fpages%2Fbiotrotter.html ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Call Jenika or email us and let us know how many will be coming and we'll give you all of the details.
