REcapping the bridge

So as long as we've thrown out various sorts of shoe plugs, bamboo 
skewers and toothpicks (Del I think pointed in that direction).... what 
is everyones take one what kind of wood stick of appropriate diameter is 
best suited ?... or does it really matter a hoot ?  Terry just goes with 
epoxy itself, which I like well enough except that it seems to always 
leave a slight dent after drying.  I get the idea that forcing the epoxy 
in with a plug kinda makes it find any possible <<fisher>> around. Then 
there is that bit about all that glue-glass in the bridge... perhaps 
thats actually a good thing ?
