In NY actually Queens which is a borough and Long Island, I found that this season seemed to be reasonably busy, although many of the people had not responded to have their pianos tuned all year. I too hope that things will improve. Happy holidays from NY Marty In a message dated 12/20/2008 7:46:24 P.M. Business has been nocitably off since last fall, and this year even those who I considered to be well-heeled and recession proof are putting off tuning calls. Many of them are effected by the downturn in the stock market, as well as the housing downturn. Several local businesses have closed, most apparently the local GM dealer, which has left a large, empty car lot visible by the freeway. Things will turn around next year -right? Patrick C.
