Can you figure out what this does?

It's a lost motion compensator for when the hammer rest rail lifts the shanks.
Attached is a photo of one.  Notice the linkage between the pivot arm of the
rest rail and the rod that engages the LM compensator.

It allows the weight of the hammer and wippen to keep the rear of the key down.
Without it, the front of the key goes down to the degree that the hammer rail
is raised thus sacrificing dip.
