Meet the Lookerson's

My most unnerving experience is at the federal prison where I tune. The
guys in the chapel stand behind me and watch the entire tuning. Many of
them are really sharp mechanical types and are intrigued by the combination
of an old fashioned machine (piano) and the fancy tuning software. (Guards
are always nearby of course.)

My funniest experience (not at the time but in retrospect) was a customer
named Rocky who had an ancient upright he had purchased for his little girl.
They lived in the middle of nowhere in a double-wide trailer surrounded by
livestock. Rocky wore his Harley shirt and Harley baseball cap. When I
started to tune, he turned a chair around backwards right next to me, sat
down, and proceeded to talk while I tried to tune. Luckily his cell phone
cock-a-doodle-dooed (no really!) about 15 minutes later and he was gone.

Rural America is such a fun place to work!

I once had a young oriental girl, about 11, I think, sit in a
chair about two feet away and watch the entire tuning from
strip mute to lid closed, without moving a muscle. Impressive
