Greetings,

How could Beethoven have used the Prinz temp? He would have had to
use that in his later works if it only came about in 1808. Beethoven died in
1827. He was born in 1770. So as a boy, he was playing on something probably
developed at least 10 years prior. I guess I figure on tuners learning the "new"
temp, then getting good at tuning it. I think if a temp was developed in a
particular year, any year, it takes a good 20 years till other tuners learn it
and start using it and then passing it down to the apprentices.

Also no one hires a tuner that cant tune, so apprenticed tuners were in
training from the older guys and the younger possibly never got a hold of newer
math/tuning. I think, back then, there was alot more of respect for older poeple,
and werent those the dyas you were taught something, you didnt question it as
much as kids do these days, and you stuck to what you were taught, just out
of blind respect. Also, with no internet and slow mail, or no mail, this
information would have taken years to circulate. Just some thoughts.
