I've never masked the holes. If I was fitting bearings to 
shafts, yea, but there's no clearance to worry about with 
hitch pins. It's an interference fit. The chamfered top of the 
hole keeps the surface from chipping, and the stuff in the 
hole either chips off and falls through, or is jammed between 
the pin and the plate. Either way, no problem. Yer makin' it 
too hard, Jim.
