on or off topic? No matter, if your intentions are benign

Yes, Marshall, we're the problem. Not you. Can't we
narrow minded people understand that you were not
exercising freedom of speech? Or lack thereof?

Yes, we must learn to be more tolerant of those who
abuse the list and use it to promote their own
agendas. Because even though the post may have
political or religious content, the poster may just be
saying, "Hey, take a look at this. I have no reason
to send it to you. I'm not saying I'm for it. I'm
not saying I'm against it. I'm not saying it has
anything to do with pianos whatsoever and therefore
does not belong on the list. I'm just saying,
Hey...you should see this!".

And that's so different than if there was some motive
behind the post. See, when it's done for no reason at
all, then it's OK to post anything you want here on
Pianotech.

Like take this website:

I'm not saying I believe this, or not. I'm not
saying that I even read the page so I don't even know
what's on it. I'm just saying, "Here, check this
out, Marshall." See? There's no malicious intent
behind my posting this on Pianotech! Just "Hey, you
should be aware of this."

Yes, this list should think "outside the piano case".
24/7. We're all trapped in our little piano world,
talking about pianos, writing about pianos, discussing
pianos. It's sick!! Jeez...we gotta break out of
this rut!

Barack Obama for President! There! That felt good!
