Dianne, I have a particular fondness for these pianos...it's on one of these that I learned to ream and repin quickly and efficiently.? Yes, they were covered with the same crud.? I think it's graphite.? Most of the hammer, wippen, rep lever, and jack centers were tight.? Some of the underlever flanges acted up later, too. I never did figure out the warranty policy for this issue.? I was paid by the owner, and he was never reimbursed by Samick to the best of my knowledge.? Good Luck! Hi Dianne, ? I had a Samick that had tight action centers and found that some sort of black crud was forming on the pins. I gave them several options - repinning, repinning & rebushing, or all new action parts. They went with repinning. Unfortunately the company that had the piano was sold and I haven't seen the piano since. ? ? But you might want to yank a couple of the pins from the worst centers to see if anything like this is affecting your piano.... ? Just a thought. ?
